Renee is currently accepting a small number of new referrals. Please get in touch if you’d like to enquire about availability.

Renee Calligeros is a registered clinical psychologist, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (ANZAED), board-approved supervisor, and adjunct associate lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland. She also holds a Senior Psychology position within Children’s Health Queensland and has experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families across Child and Youth Mental Health and Adult Mental Health Services.

Over the past five years, Renee has worked within the CYMHS Eating Disorders Program, providing evidence-based treatment for young people experiencing anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia, bulimia nervosa, ARFID, and binge eating disorder. She has received ongoing supervision from Dr Riccardo Dalle Grave, co-author of CBT-E for Adolescents, further developing her skills in this approach.

Renee has a strong passion for early detection and intervention in eating disorders and has delivered training, supervision, and presentations to organisations including Education Queensland, Queensland Health staff, the National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC), and the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED).

Current Practice

Renee sees adolescents and adults, with a particular focus on eating disorders and related concerns. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals feel understood and empowered to move toward meaningful change, at their own pace. She also works with people who have a history of disordered eating or body image concerns that may resurface during significant life transitions, such as pregnancy or early parenthood.

Renee understands that eating disorders often co-occur with other challenges and takes an integrated, person-centred approach to care -considering each individual’s unique experience and circumstances.

In addition to her work with eating disorders, Renee provides treatment for a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders (such as social anxiety disorder and generalised anxiety disorder), depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and stress-related difficulties.

Renee also has a strong interest in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children, adolescents, and young adults. Renee utilises exposure and response prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD.

Renee offers a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether her services may be the right fit for you or your loved one.
